This has been in the news for sometime but I just couldnt see it not being on iMAndroid!
E-Ink is an electronic ebook reader from Moto Development Labs, the main attraction being its screen. It gives a paper like viewing experience embedded in digital art form. The screen is the specialty. It only refreshes upon a screen change. Power is consumed by the screen only during its refresh mode. Rest of the time, it remains static and visible/readable. Picture your mobile phone screen actively “on” without any battery consumption ( that was just an example, and would be outrageously irritating if it were true for a cell phone
)
E Ink is an electronic paper display technology with a paper-like, high contrast appearance, ultra low-power consumption, and a thin, light form. It is “bi-stable” – meaning it only uses power when it refreshes the screen. The advantages of this kind of low-power screen device updated via wireless internet access could bring this connected technology to wearable computing or other screen uses that demand long-term deployment before recharging.
They successfully ran Android on their E-Ink prototype via USB Port. Very interesting stuff. Check out their video:
Android Meets E Ink from MOTO Development Group on Vimeo.

They’re now attempting to run not just Android but also Ubuntu, Linux and Adobe Air for “custom web connected application development”. And imagine a multi-touch capability!
All I can say is way-to-go Moto! I hope this technology of yours does make it to retail sooner than later, Im sure there are enough people out there who think this is actually a worthwhile product that actually consumes less power whilst running Android!

I’m considering about receiving the Amazon Kindle 2. I have read tons of reviews and am wondering what you’ve to say about it. The Kindle sounds like an awesome idea. Saving trees, saving income, not losing your spot, print size transform, as well as the notes feature. So what do you think? Ought to I get it?
