September 23rd was the announcement of the first Android powered mobile phone manufactured by HTC marketed as T-Mobile G1. Signifying the first Google Phone. G1, although may not have impressed everyone in terms of hardware, has been one of HTC’s best selling devices all credited to Android. No surprises there.Blogs across bragged about how G1 was beating expectations in terms of sales.
2008 was Android release year more than anything. We waited patiently to see how Android faces up against its main “alleged rival” iPhone’s mini Mac OS. And now we realise, its not just the mobile phone market the green alien’s looking at!
2009, people… , will mark Android’s Consolidation. It’ll shake up Steve Ballmers views on it. He’ll probably throw something new but theres no denying, Windows Mobile needs a revamp if it wants to challenge Open Handset Alliance (Android). Finnish giant Nokia was quick to recognise Android’s threat hence enter the Symbian Foundation, now moving along similar path.
What we Android phans can look forward to? A slew of mobile phones locked/unlocked scheduled to be released in almost all 3 Quarters of 2009.
Occupaying Q1-2009: Kogan Electronics, OpenMoko (most likely to be the 2nd device out), Chinese QiGi likely kick start their Android campaign.
Android Market continues to keep expanding. But much bigger software apps like Beetaun are scheduled to start their internet service in the first quarter. Which completely makes sense – Beetaun uses GMaps spread across….., well, the whole globe. We’ll have some more insights into Beetaun very …. very …. very … soon
Q2-2009: SonyEricsson previously commented on how one’s got to give up everything to Google, ended up joining OHA. Toshiba, Vodafone are others that recently joined.
Samsung has declared their intent of their Android most likely to be out in the second quarter 09.
Today, Android’s the most promising product of the future. Sure, it has some glitches here and there.
I’ll add more as and when news pops in..

There’s no chance that’s right. The iPhone never used to be anywhere near that. I’m veteran enough to think back to the very first like that had pointer support and 2 clicks buttons, forget all this fancy stuff they have.
