Very intelligent I must say. fBook is the Android application which is basically a wrapper that connects to facebook’s iPhone web app with some added features like SMS to any facebook contact, Notifications from Facebook.

This app can run in the background and with Notifications, its a winner. Facebook has been very weary of Android platform and lays out no plans to build a native facebook application like they did for iPhone. This is pretty much as a result of its rivalry with MySpace thats backed by Google.
OpenID is another issue that doesnt go well with Faces of Facebook’s execs. Eventually though, facebook might have to bow down. This “facebook style” social media may not last very very long. Facebook may be the current rightly deserving leader, but an across the board backing is necessary in the long run. A shifting trend is always on the cards. Users dont want to have multiple accounts on all social media websites. India for instance is a typical example. Users shifted from Hi5 to Orkut which now leads.
The other bone of contention – Microsoft owns 1.6 percent stake in Facebook. Obviously facebook isnt gonna play with steve ballmer’s emotions.
Facebooks and Ballmers should realise that maybe a native application on Android might be more damaging to MySpace and others rather than itself. It could capture the social media application space in Android completely. So facebook, Android isn’t really bad …. you know that!
Oh well, until you release a native api app for it, 3rd party developers WILL be busy and we wont be missing alot of facebook!
cheers to Next Mobile Web for coming up with fBook.
